I love dresses. I’ve always found it impossible to transition dresses into Canadian winters. You try really hard, first with tights, then with leggings (you hope no one will notice), and then with leggings under leggings. Mostly I forgo them altogether. But sometimes you find the perfect one. Last year, it was this: http://aritzia.com/fashion/dresses/veronica-dress . I’ve worn it in the hottest days of summer and the coldest days of winter, to work, to school, to the fanciest occasions I can think of. I’ve also never been complimented more on a single piece of clothing than that one!
Here are some of my favourites for winter from Zara’s current collection.
- Cute! Dress it up for the holiday season, dress it down for school. Maximizing wearibility (hypocritical, I know)
- A winner for NYE, and the tulle gives it a different edge.
- Totally just for fun. My second favourite of the lot but no place to wear it to.
- The longer sleeved equivalent to the Artizia one…..really want to snap this one up but I totally can’t justify it.
- The colour!!!! The cut!!!! It’s so precious I’m gonna die!
- Rawr! Another NYE one for sure, and I’ve been wanting a long sleeved one shoulder for a while.
- Ah, she’s a beaut. I think I drooled when I first saw her. My favourite!
hmmm, so which will I end up with?
I’ve been planning my wedding for the past two hours. Homework remains undone. I know I should be regretting something, but I just don’t know what.
Pin up makeup. If you want to master any makeup look, this is it. Flawless on any skin tone and Dita Von Teese’s trademark choice, this look is all about making an understated statement.
Winter is the probably the most aromatic season of them all. It’s sharp, spicy, and smoky. Walking down the street, entering a house - you’re bound to stimulate your senses with one of these.
One of the only things that are keeping me alive right now are all things knit. Cable-knit, rib knit, fair-isle or plain: chunky sweaters, woolly mittens, and fuzzy berets will pull you through the winter season. Trust me.
